Activity of the department

The Marine Geospatial Information Database, Integration and Dissemination Department is responsible for:

managing all spatial information resulting from survey activities carried out by the Maritime Hydrographic Directorate;
managing spatial information resulting from survey activities carried out by other institutions;
authorising institutions wishing to carry out survey activities within the area of responsibility in the Black Sea;
managing the Marine Spatial Data Infrastructure (MSDI);
disseminating spatial information through network services or in other digital formats, in accordance with current standards;
liaising with national and international spatial information working groups;
providing marine spatial information for the European Community's Spatial Information Infrastructure (INSPIRE).
