Activity of the topogeodesy laboratory

The Marine Topogeodesy Survey Laboratory carries out topogeodetic surveys of the coastal area, comprising the full range of measures and actions undertaken to collect, analyse, verify, store, update and exploit data relating to topogeodetic support.

It densifies the geodetic network and gathers information on the existence, physical condition and marking of survey markers, the possibilities for restoring markings of missing markers, access routes to them, and the emergence of new prominent terrain features that can be determined for use as orientation landmarks.

It carries out topogeodetic surveys of the coastline for the coastal area.

It carries out topogeodetic surveys required to update marine charts and documents for the Naval Forces or for internal and external beneficiaries.

It carries out topogeodetic measurements for the preparation of detailed plans of military ports and cadastral plans for its own barracks.

It supplies the topogeodetic data and products required for the production of cartographic materials by the Cartography Section.

It carries out topogeodetic measurements specific to the calibration of radar stations aboard ships and along the coast.

It carries out special topographic surveys for the benefit of the Naval Forces.
