The Database and Maritime Spatial Information Interlinking Department is responsible for:

• the management of all spatial information resulting from the research activities carried out by the Maritime Hydrographic Directorate
• the management of spatial information resulting from research activities carried out by other institutions
• issuing the research permit for institutions wishing to carry out research activities in the area of responsibility in the Black Sea
• Marine Spatial Information Infrastructure (MSDI) Management
• the dissemination of spatial information through network services or other digital formats, in line with current standards
• linking with working groups for spatial, national and international information
• the provision of marine spatial information for the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe (INSPIRE)
