Captain Dănică-Romel Pera was born on the 26th of December 1974 in Mangalia, Constanta county, Romania. He graduated from “Mircea cel Batran” Naval Academy as an engineer in artillery, naval and anti-aircraft missiles. He graduated as ensign in 1998, was promoted to lieutenant junior grade in 2000, to lieutenant in 2004, to lieutenant commander in 2009, to commander in 2014 and captain in 2019.

He was first assigned as commander of artillery and missiles combat unit on a Fast-Attack Craft Missile Carrier from the Naval Missile Brigade for two years (1998-2000), then he was appointed commander of artillery and missiles combat unit on the 190th Fast Patrol Boat in the Naval Rocket Division and until 2012 he assumed various positions in the same division, the last ot these being commander of the 188th Fast Patrol Boat.

In 2012 he was admitted to “Carol I” National Defence University as a master officer, in the specialization Leadership in Naval Forces and upon graduation, between 2014 – 2017, he was named duty officer for Current operations Comand and later Head of Operations and Training in the 243rd Radio-electronic and Observation Centre “Callatis”.

Between 2017 and 2019 he was commander of the 130th Logistic Support Ships Division and the following two years he worked as Head of Information of Fleet Command. At present he is appointed Deputy Chief of Maritime Hydrographic Directorate “Comandor Alexandru Cătuneanu”.

In all his career he participated at many national and international exercices being rewarded many times with appreciation certificates and coins by NATO commanders, as well as foreign and national.

His personal and professional educational development include numerous courses, the most important of them being as follows: Specialised course in artillery and naval missiles, Romania (2000); French language general terminology, Romania (2001); “Interdisciplinary cooperation – new partnership for peace in action” course , Canada (2002); Naval Warfare Course, Romania (2002); Naval Staff College Course, Romania (2008); GOS GMDSS Course, Romania (2010) and Master of Command, Romania (2014).

As a mark of appreciation, for the proven professionalism and outstanding achievements throughout his career, he was awarded the following orders and distinctions: The Honorary Sign "In the Service of the Romanian Armed Forces" cls. III, Honorary Sign "Service in the Armed Forces" for 15 years of activity, Honorary Sign "Service in the Armed Forces" for 20 years of activity, Emblem of Honour” from Naval Forces.

Captain Dănică-Romel PERA is married and has two sons.
